Ghanaian gospel musician, Nicholas Omane Acheampong has threatened to sue highlife artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu known in showbiz as KK Fosu for alleging that 99 percent of Ghanaian musicians smoke marijuana.
The Tabita Kum hit maker said the claim by the highlife artist is an insult and an indictment on especially gospel musicians in the country.
“A lot of musicians are pastors and great people in this industry, so I believe if don’t do anything about it people around me or music lovers may even think I’m one of them” he stressed.
KK Fosu who recently released his latest single which features Samini in an interview said everyone in the music industry takes marijuana.
“I’ve never set my eyes on cocaine before. Way back when you talk about marijuana, we are the artiste and so far as you are artistes, you want to pass in certain angles. Marijuana fine, everybody takes. I will say that 99%of Ghanaian musicians use it but for cocaine I don’t know and I’ve never set my eyes on it before.” KK Fosu noted.
But Nicholas Omane Acheampong on Adom Fm’s entertainment Hall expressed shock at the comment by KK Fosu.
He indicated that he has not seen or smoked marijuana popularly known as wee thus the generalization is unfortunate.
The Zaphanat Paneah hit maker challenged KK Fosu to prove his allegation or risk facing a class action in court.
“This is very disrespectful because there are a lot of great personalities in the music industry so KK Fosu cannot say 99% smoke wee” he stressed.
Nicholas Omane Acheampong urged the highlife artiste to render an unqualified apology to all musicians for the ill-fated comment.
“If KK Fosu is tired of smoking marijuana, he should come out and say it, because it is never late for him to stop” he added.
