I will forgive Bulldog if he apologizes to me – Shatta Wale

Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, says regardless of the sour relationship between him and his immediate past manager, Bulldog, he is ever ready to take him back if he apologizes for the wrongs he committed against him.

In a case of friendship gone bad over disagreements about money, the CEO of Bullhaus Entertainment, Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, known in showbiz as Bulldog, announced on Saturday that it had parted ways with Shatta Wale.

Bulldog’s statement

“The management of Bullhaus Entertainment wishes to bring to the notice of the general public that we no longer have a working relationship with multiple-award winning artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah A.K.A. Shatta Wale effective immediately,” the statement said.

It added “We are humbled to have been part of the success story up until this point, and wish Shatta Wale all the best in his future endeavors. We also wish to thank Shatta Wale and his Shatta Movement team for choosing us as managers for his professional career for these past years. We will forever be fans of Shatta Wale and his music and still believe in the mantra of the Shatta Movement. ‘Shatta Movement for life”.

But Shatta Wale has responded harshly to Bulldog in an interview with Accra-based Pluzz FM. Among other things, he said Bulldog followed him like a “bodyguard” and not a manager, since there was no agreement between them, and that he lacked professional competence.

When asked by journalists whether he would wish to settle his differences with Bulldog, Shatta Wale said “The Almighty God forgives our sins when we ask for forgiveness and so I am ever ready if Bulldog will come out publicly and accept his mistakes we can work.

If the whole Ghana will see that he has accepted his mistakes, then we can work. If that doesn’t happen, I have people in the industry who can help me to raise the standard to achieve my dreams. I know Bulldog; he is feeling too big to come and apologize.

If he comes back I will give him rules and let him know what I want as an artiste” he emphasized. According to him, strenuous efforts had been made by some influential persons in the industry to settle the matter amicably between them before Bulldog issued the statement.

“I wanted a sitting to talk over things then he came out with this letter so I am ready to play the game with him. This is with no hard feelings. I brought out this issue for everyone to know my side of the story. From Germany to America, people who are even higher than us spoke to Bulldog to go to Ghana so we solve this thing. And before he came back to Ghana that was the last thing they told him to do. My promoter and agent in America called me and he was furious because he had told me to sit down with Bulldog, so why this letter?,” he queried.

He added “So I told him that I am going to go on radio and let everybody know the truth because I don’t want people to keep saying that I am the type that people can’t work with me; no I am not like that. If you are a manger and you’ve stepped on my toe just say sorry so that we move on. To say sorry it’s nothing; but to feel like who is Shatta Wale and why do I have to say sorry to him and all that is not fair. I am a whole CEO watching a whole family and I pay people” he insisted.
