Popular highlife artiste Ofori Amponsah, also known as ‘All 4 Real’, has revealed that he was never an ordained minister of God.
Speaking with MzGee of Joy News, he explained that he was only a figure head at his fellowship and not a pastor as people generally believed.
This comes as a surprise as some years ago, the ‘Otoolege’ hit singer announced that he was now a pastor and in fact built his own congregation, Family of Faith and Love in 2012.
He was largely regarded as a minister of the gospel and granted media interviews as such.
He now says “Ofori Amponsah is not an ordained Pastor. I just attend church. I love Jesus. It’s one part of me that I don’t think is going to change anytime soon… it’s not a registered church, I’m not an ordained pastor; I just love Jesus, that’s all,” he revealed.
The musician, last year released his first single after his U-turn to secular music with ace rapper Sarkodie titled ‘Alewa’. This earned him the nickname ‘Pastor Alewa’.
Asked whether he feels comfortable with that name, he said “I accept. I mean anything to explain my faith. I cannot go to people’s houses and tell them what to call me. I shouldn’t blow my head because of this. It’s normal. It’s part of show business anyway… whatever the people call me I accept.”
Ofori Amponsah refuted claims that he kissed a female fan during a performance at a concert over the weekend at highlife musician Amakye Dede’s ‘Abrantie Spot’.
In his explanation, he said he only gave the lady a kiss on the cheek and hugged her at an angle that gave an impression of an intimate kiss.
