Nollywood action hero, Hanks Anuku has urged Nigerians to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari irrespective of the recent state of the economy.
Reports in Nigeria suggests an ailing economy since Buhari was elected in 2015 with Nigerians describing his administration as the worst ever in the history of the country.
Although, the administration has pinned the recent predicaments surrounding the economy on the downward spiral in global oil price and corruption accumulated over the years by the Goodluck Jonathan led administration.
Hank, speaking on Viasat1 flagship program, This Morning, was optimistic about the future.
He urged Nigerians to pray for the ex-military leader, stating that the economic and political instabilities in Nigeria can be traced to other African countries adding that change doesn’t come overnight but gradually.
“We have ups and downs and for everyone God has chosen, we don’t need to condemn. We rather need to actually pray for them and the people around them.”
“I think prayers can break every barrier. I also think that as human as everybody is, we have all made mistakes – South Africa has the same problem. So, if God says there should be a turning point in any nation, it’s going to come to past because there is always a procedure to arriving at that end.”
“I follow all the happenings in Nigeria, I love my country and I pray God helps us.” He added.
The Buhari led administration since taking over the reins of power has been accused of failing to do the needful to sustain the level of economic growth recorded by ex-President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration.
Also, following the declaration by the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS that the nation’s economy has gone into recession in September, 2016, social critic and former All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Benue state, Mr. Nath Apir was quoted as saying that Nigerians are currently regretting voting for President Muhammadu Buhari at the last general elections.
The only notable success recorded by the President was negotiating the release of 21 out of over a 100 Chibok girls captured.
