The head of Afrikania Mission OSOFO Komfo Atsu Kove*has appealed to government to give the Afrikania Mission a public holiday as been done to the Christians and Muslims. *Osofo Atsu*went ahead and said that government of Ghana His John Dramani Mahama must put measures in place to curb the indoctrination of our children in public schools. He said there were instances where iur children are forced to be part of Christian worship against the religious beliefs of our children. The perpetrators of such religious crimes should be reminded that the constitution of this country allows *freedom of belief and worship.Osofo Atsu said that they witnesses to a situation where libation prayers are banned and prohibited at State functions by the present government. Afrikania Mission expressed disappointment at this rather unfair and unfortunate discrimination against our national religion. It is the biggest insult to the dignity of Africans and for that matter Ghanaians, to call on our leaders of foreign religious at state functions to pray whiles prohibiting our own form of prayer, our holy libation prayer.we are happy to state that , government heard our pleadings and cries and restored libation prayer at the last independence celebration of 6th March,2016. Osofo Komfo Atsu Kove continued to say that we traditionalists shall be therefore be very happy if any government come to power and give us a holiday to celebrate ” ANCESTORS DAY “.our Christian and Muslim brothers have got theirs and we think it is unfair to deny us this request. We shall carry that government shoulder high since this.
