Ghana Association of Mineral Haulers demand payment of over 70m cedis owed by Ghana Manganese company

Over 70 million cedis salary arrears of the Ghana Association of Mineral Haulers is in limbo as the Ghana Manganese company limited continue to reneg on its promise to swiftly settled the monies owed them

public Relations officer, for the association Michael Odonkor whole addressing the press in Accra said the Institutions have failed to act in the interest of the country in the face of evidence of gross violation of state laws.

‘failing to act on concerns tabled to them by haulers’ and poor monitoring and supervision of hauling activities’ he said

The Association have bemoaned the seeming neglect of state Institutions like the Ministry of lands and natural Resources and the minerals Commission whose mandate it lies to
regulate the operations of these companies noting the trend has
resulted in ‘huge indebtedness of haulers due to overhead cost such as fuel, bank loans and basic operational costs.

They have appealed to government to immediately intervene.
