The Ghana Education Service (GES) said the new arrangement applies to all Form 3 students on both single and double track systems
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has postponed reopening of schools for Senior High School third year students to 5 May 2021.
It follows a proposal by the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) for a review of the academic calendar. Schools were originally scheduled to reopen today 6 April 2021.
This is to give the students an uninterrupted instructional period till they write their final examinations.
A GES statement said the new arrangement applies to all Form 3 students on both single and double track system.
Proposal by CHASS
“Management has considered a proposal from CHASS and has therefore revised the academic calendar as follows;
“Reopening for Form 3 students have been rescheduled for 5 May 2021. This applies to all Form 3 students (single track and double track schools). Further details will be announced. All other arrangements on the calendar remain unchanged,” the statement said.
Schools were earlier scheduled to resume on June 30 till the end of the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
