Ga West Education Directorate Honors King Oyanka with Reading Festival

The Ga West Municipal Educational Directorate has honored the Education Emissary of the Montessori Model United Nations-West Africa, HRH King Oyanka I, with a reading festival.

This recognition comes in light of King Oyanka’s continuous contributions and dedication to educational development both within and beyond the municipality.

According to the Directorate, the reading festival will espouse ingenuity, creativity, and promote a keen interest in inquiry among students. Scheduled for July 23, 2024, the festival promises to unearth hidden talents across schools in the Municipal Assembly. This initiative also affirms the diligent work of the Director of Education at the Assembly, Mr. Victor Noi Tawiah, following the Assembly’s recent victory in the Greater Accra Girls in ICT competition.

King Oyanka has pledged to use his influence and support to drive more innovation in the educational sector, driven by his passion for seeing the next generation attain a global standard. His introduction of the Montessori Model United Nations, with its first training modules set to be piloted in September, is a testament to his commitment. King Oyanka is dedicated to making the reading festival a recurring event with evolving dimensions to continually engage and inspire students.

In a significant development, Nii Djata Adama (Laremy Wade) has been appointed as the Montessori Model United Nations Director for the MMUN Outlet initiative in Ghana, under the supervision of the MMUN West Chapter, headquartered in Ghana. This appointment, overseen by the Office of The Montessori Model United Nations Initiative of the West African Minister of Education, marks a pivotal moment for education in the region.
