From selling ‘koko’ to making music: Frank Naro shares powerful grass to success story 

Ghanaian actor-turned-musician, Frank Naro, born Frank Osei, has recounted his journey to becoming an actor and subsequently pursuing a music career.

Naro told Abena Ghana on The Journey Show that he had to climb the ladder of life whilst living independently at the age of nine.

He explained his journey from movie auditions to his debut movie.

”I used to tag along with my industry friend Kweku Manu, carrying porridge as he went about hanging the posters of newly released movies that featured the likes of Agya Koo.

”One day, I woke up to realise someone had hanged my poster. I was overjoyed,” he said. Naro indicated that it was during this period that he discovered his newfound love of music.

He, however, bemoaned that there are many saboteurs in the music industry as compared to the movie industry.

Naro credited his achievements to God’s grace despite the setbacks. The Abena singer urged young people who look up to him to stay focused in life.

He advised them to avoid wasting time and resources.

The Journey Show, which is a talk show which focuses on the stories of people who have had great life experiences worth sharing to inspire others.
