A former Deputy Minister of Sports under the erstwhile Mills administration, Mr Nii Nortey Dua has passed on.

Mr Nortey Dua, who also served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region between 2008 and 2012 died on Thursday following protracted ailment.

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Kwadwo Asiedu Nketia announced this at the party’s headquarters in Accra Thursday during a press conference on the party’s preparation towards its internal elections in 2018.

Mr Nortey Dua was beaten in the party’s primaries ahead of the 2012 elections by Benita Sena Okity-Duah, a former Miss Ghana winner.
