The president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, says his association has not abandoned the pursuit of a sponsor for the Premier League.
According to him, the FA is still working hard to find sponsors for the league and once a deal is clinched he will not hesitate to make it public.
Since First Capital Plus pulled out of the 10million-dollar sponsorship package for the league, local clubs have been sweating to finance the day-to-day administration of their clubs.
However, the FA president, in an interview with the Graphic Sports at Dawu last Saturday shared the frustrations of the clubs but noted they were still working to ensure they got sponsors for the league.
Currently, the only financial assistance coming to the clubs is the television sponsorship from SuperSports which most of the clubs have even admitted to be woefully inadequate.
With the league gaining much more attention from the public due to a few talents, the clubs risk losing them to other foreign clubs if the local ones are unable to sustain their financial demands.
President Nyantakyi, who promised to introduce some ‘sexy’ girls to the stadium to entice patronage, fulfilled his promise when he came to the Dawu Park with a beevy of ladies, together with hiplife artist, Reggie Rockstone, to spice-up the game.
