The eleven suspects arrested for allegedly taking part in the ransacking of the national headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday have been granted bail in the sum of 10,000 cedis by an Accra circuit court.

They were granted bail with two sureties and made to sign a bond of good behaviour despite a request by the prosecution for them to be remanded in police custody for investigations.

Lawyers for the eleven suspects opposed the request for remand, citing the absence of strong evidence against their clients.

Bismark Osei Addo who is also the leader of the suspects further mobilized four hundred and eighty youth supporters from all ten regions to come to the party’s headquarters to support them present their grievances on recent happenings in the party to the elders of the NPP.

He said they planned to organize a press conference to announce the outcome of the meeting.
