The general overseer of freedom chapel international Apostle Francis Amoako, has called on ministers of the gospel to desist from using the pulpit to promote any political agenda ahead of the December polls.
He explained that the duty of the minister of the gospel does not entail telling their congregation which presidential and parliamentary candidates to vote for.
He was quick to add that the ministers were allowed to educate their congregations on issues that will help them make informed choices.
“We only tell them to look at the issues and make informed decisions,” he reiterated.
Apostle Francis Amoako, who is also the President of the freedom chapel international , said this when he addressed the Ministers at Annual Refresher Course, Retreat and Business at Accra.
He also urged politicians to only make promises they can fulfil. He said they didn’t need to make outrageous promises they knew were unattainable.
“You know the limitation of the country; you know as a parliamentarian you don’t have the right or the money and so why do you go around promising things you know you can’t do?” he quizzed.
He further advised the politicians to refrain from using the youth for violence during the campaign season.
