Court remands Kasoa teenage ‘ritual money’ murder suspects into police custody

The Ofaakor District Magistrate Court on Tuesday remanded into police custody the two teenagers who allegedly killed a 10 year old boy last Saturday at Coca Cola, near Lamptey Mills in Kasoa.

This is to allow the police to conduct more investigations into the matter.

They are to reappear on April 20, 2021, reports Graphic Online’s Emmanuel Bonney who was at the court Tuesday morning (April 6, 2021).

The court was presided over by Her Worship, Mrs Rosemond Vera Ocloo.

Key Witness

The man who discovered the body of the boy said the scene was noticed by his son whom one of the suspects had sent to call the victim for them, saying, “My son told me that while they were playing video games earlier, one of the suspects asked him to call the deceased for them, which he did. He did not know their intention.”

He said later on, “My wife told me one of my sons had told her that someone has dug a hole and put something there. I asked who dug the hole and I was told it was the suspects. When we got to the scene, I saw two cement blocks. I removed the blocks, got my shovel and began digging. After a while I saw blood and then the hand of a lifeless body,” he said, adding, “I brought the body out and my wife identified the body as Ishmael.”

He added, “Based on the information from my son, I went after the boys and got one of them, after which I informed people to come around.”
