Aggrieved Community Health nurses are resuming duty today following the resolution of the problems that triggered their industrial action.

The Ghana Health service after series of meetings has conceded that the health workers are entitled to study leave after two years of service just like their colleagues in mainstream nursing.

Leadership of the Community Health Nurses in Ghana declared an indefinite strike in protest of what they call unfair treatment and discrimination by government.

The irate nurses accused the Ghana Health Service and the Nurses and Midwifery Council of disrespecting and abusing them with ill-disposed policies.

The group then demanded among other things the immediate re-classification of their position to Community Health Nurses instead of nurses’ assistants.

Speaking to Starr News, the National President of the Community Health Nurses Association of Ghana, Esther Bamfo said they are returning to work today because their concerns have been fully addressed.
