Ghana’s sole representative in Africa, Medeama SC managed a 1-1 draw away with Tanzanian Club Young Africans in the CAF Confederations Cup on Saturday afternoon
The Yellow and Mauves went in search of their first victory after losing and drawing their opening two games but failed to produce a magical display expected of them to win.
The Tanzanians took the lead after barely two minutes of action but could not hold on as Medeama pulled even to keep their hopes of reaching the knock-out stage alive.
Bernard Ofori scored in the 19th minute to stun the home fans after Donald Ngomo Dombo had given them a second minute lead.
The Ghana FA Cup and Super Cup Champions will host Young Africans in the return encounter at the Essipong Stadium in a fortnight time.
