Maverick Ghanaian heavy weight boxer, Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku has revealed to Happy FM that has decided to pull out of the December 26 bout with Ayittey Powers because he is spiritually sick.

Bukom Banku, 37, has asked that the bout be postponed to February otherwise wise there was no way he would engage in the much touted re-match between him and Ayiitey Powers.

He also called the bluff of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) for threatening to revoke his boxing license for refusing to fight on the agreed date and stated that he would enter active politics if they carry out their threat.

“I have asked that the bout be postponed because I am sick. My sickness is not a physical one but rather a spiritual sickness so I can’t produce a medical report but if the GBA insist that they will ban me, they should go ahead. When Oscar Dela Hoya was to fight Ike Quartey, didn’t he postpone the bout on several counts? How many times did Powers ask for our first fight to be postponed? I’m surprised they are unwilling to heed to my request. I can only be fit to fight in 3 months so if they can wait, then I’ll fight. I have a spiritual background so I know what I’m talking about.” Banku toldHappy FM.

Bukom Banku further revealed that he would join politics if his license is revoked which he’s even told the GBA.

“GBA can ban me for all I care. I have even stopped boxing if they don’t know and I am venturing into politics full time. I am the one who brought boxing to life when it went down the doldrums.” Bukom Banku added.
