Daily View Gh has learnt that the Northern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bugri Naabu has been in a serious accident.
The accident reportedly occurred at dawn on Thursday while he was returning from Sawla and Bole, where he had gone to campaign for the upcoming Regional election slated for this Saturday.
Chairman Bugri Naabu’s vehicle was said to have veered off the road while it was raining and the driver to lose control of the steering wheel. The vehicle somersaulted several times and landed on the side.
Reports say five other occupants in his Toyota Landcruiser vehicle sustained injuries with one of them said to have suffered a head injury and is also being flown to Accra.
Two others who had their legs broken are receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Northern Regional correspondent Martina Abugri says the Chairman’s situation is critical and he is being airlifted from the Tamale Teaching Hospital to Accra for medical attention.
