Fire has gutted a section of the Mallam Atta market in New Town, a suburb of Accra, locals have confirmed to Dailyviewgh.com
Eyewitnesses told this website Tuesday afternoon that the fire started 3pm local time and ravaged portions of the market, particularly sheds belonging to some sellers of palm oil.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service have since arrived at the scene.
