Samuel Kwadwo Buabeng aka Bob Okala who was a pioneer of the popularKey Soap Concert Party in the 90s, kicked the bucket after collapsing on stage while performing at aprogrammeorganised by Joy Industries at Koforidua Jackson Park on Saturday.
Some of the celebrities who are heartbroken about the sudden demise of the comedian took to social media platforms like twitter, Instagram and facebook to express their sorrow.
Actress Beverly Afaglo wrote; Such sad news this morning ??…. Comedian Bob Okala died this morning. May his soul rest in perfect peace ??
In a tweet Pope Skinny wrote: RIP Bishop Bob Okala. It’s sad to see you a minute before your death. When I was coming down from the stage he was getting ready to go on stage. Soo sad Okala. Soo sad. May God give you a resting place. Amen.
In a tweet, the award-winning actress, Women’s Rights Activist, TV and Radio Personality, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, said; Oh gosh, I just heard news from Ghana that the great Comedian Bishop Bob Okala is dead. May he rest in peace.
Kumawood actress Benedicta Gafah also added her voice saying ; RIP Bob okala,,,woooooowww life smh?????
Gospel diva Gifty Osei added on that; no dis week I saw u at okay fm ahhhh RIP ????.
According to the spokesperson and Managing Editor of Dady Media Solomon Nuwodu, “Bishop’ Okala has been part of the Joy Industries’ programmes over the years, but he was never invited for this Saturday’s event due to ill-health.
“Okala pleaded to perform briefly but he realised he couldn’t continue and the bouncers had to come on stage to hold him because he began to lose stamina,” Nuwodu said.
He was confirmed dead at the hospital Sunday dawn. He died at age 59.
