It has emerged that someone attempted to kill Salifu Maase in his prison cell by poisoning him, according to Managing Editor of the New Punch newspaper, Baby Ansaba.
Maase is one of three men serving a four-month jail term in the Nsawam Prison for threatening Supreme Court judges.
Baby Ansaba revealed on Atinka FM AM Drive Friday that Salifu Maase, popularly called Mugabe, told him (Ansaba) when he visited him in prison that some NPP loyalists were plotting to assassinate him even while serving his jail term.
“Mugabe told me when I visited him that some NPP activists had attempted topoison him in prison,” Ansabah revealed.
According to him, the claims were corroborated by Gregory Afoko, who is currently standing trial for the murder of the Former Upper East NPP chairman, Adams Mahama.
Baby Ansaba refused to give further details .
