At a pre-burial meeting, the widow claimed a nephew of the late Chief Inspector Addy Amankrah threatened to kill her if she dared come close to the corpse to pay her last respect.

Nana Adwoa Edumaba II said she had no other option than to join the colleagues of her late husband to pay their last respect to their boss.

But when they got to the funeral grounds, the distraught widow said, the family had already buried her husband without the necessary rituals by the police to bid the hardworking Chief Inspector Addy Amankrah farewell.

“The policemen wanted to file past the body so I decided to join them to pay me last respect but the family quickly went to bury the body,” she bemoaned.

Out of anger, the widow said the policemen went straight to the cemetery and exhumed the body amidst stiff opposition from the family.

Nana Adwoa Edumaba II said the incident created confusion at the funeral grounds bringing the ceremony to an abrupt end.

The widow said she now lives in fear as the family of her late husband has vowed to deal ruthlessly with her for defiling the funeral of their noble kinsman.
