The Northern Regional Police Command will today arraign before court the suspected kidnapper of a member of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ investigative team.
The Police in Tamale rescued Ishmael Hussain, after he was abducted on Saturday morning.
He was rescued after news of his abduction reached the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Alhassan. Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told Citi News that “the Police have formerly charged the only suspect in the case, one Adamu Azumah, a 35-year-old man.”
“We are charging him with assault and kidnapping. This morning he is going to be arraigned before court in Tamale,” he added.
Meanwhile, it is currently unclear the motive for the failed kidnap. Anas and his Tigereypi team had uncovered alleged rot in Ghana’s judicial system.
So far 34 higher and lower court judges as well as several other court staff have been indicted in the exposé.
