Former Special Prosecutor, Martin A. B. K. Amidu says he is convinced that his life is under threat, saying the President should be held responsible if he is harmed.
According to the former Special Prosecutor, threats of harm and death towards him have been reported to the National Security Minister.
“All these threats of murdering me and burning my houses, I am aware…I know the persons behind it and the President will be responsible for anything that happens to me,” he said.
Martin Amidu said Kennedy Agyapong’s allegations should be treated with contempt because as a Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong has lost his credibility.
Martin Amidu, on Monday, November 16, resigned from his position three years after he was appointed by President Akufo-Addo, stating untenable conditions.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Amidu also claimed he did not feel secure after releasing a corruption risk assessment report he did on the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal.
Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu is a Ghanaian politician and lawyer who served as Attorney General of Ghana from 2011 to 2012 and then as the First Special Prosecutor of the country from 2018 until his resignation in 2020.
