The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is “is wasting Ghana’s money through duplicate ministries” he created to ensure wealth for his family and friends while the ordinary Ghanaian struggles to survive under his watch.
He said “We have too many ministries” adding that under the NDC government he ruled the country with only 23 ministries.
Mahama previously served as Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012, and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.
” The Akufo-Addo government is wasting Ghana’s money through duplicate ministries, ensuring wealth, prosperity & sinecures for his family and friends while average Ghanaians struggle.” He said.
“We had 23 ministries when I was in office, 23 ministries. I mean today, ministry of Public Procurement, ministry of this and that, and some are duplication. You have a National Procurement Authority, why will you have a Ministry of Public Procurement? It’s just a duplication. He said as he defends his opinion.
John Mahama will visit the family of the deceased Member of Parliament for Mfantsiman in Mankesim, address chiefs and people in many constituencies across the region as well as meet with religious leaders, canoe owners, fishermen and fishmongers.
