President Akufo-Addo is being blamed for the increase women staking lotto in the country.
The reason for this phenomenon, according to the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress party is due to the unbearable hardships in the country.
The National Lottery Authority (NLA), a statutory agency of Ghana, under the Ministry of Finance responsible for lottery affairs.
Over the years, lotto which hitherto was the main source of revenue for men has contributed to Ghana’s economy.
But the trend seems to have changed as research showed men stake lotto more than men.
This development, Asiedu Nketia on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Wednesday said is very worrying.
He indicated that, women are now using lotto as a source of livelihood because most of their husbands are unemployed.
The General Secretary noted that, women on Saturdays queue to stake lotto with the chop monies for the upkeep of the home.
“Out of every six people near a lotto kiosk, four are women. They now see lotto as a source of livelihood because President Akufo-Addo has made life unbearable” he stressed.
Asiedu Nketia bemoaned how the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) made juicy promises to Ghanaians but now their socio-economic condition has deteriorated in just 10 months in power.
The only way out, he said is for Ghanaians to show the Akufo-Addo-led government the exit.
