A former spokesperson for former President John Agyekum Kufour, Andrew Awuni says it will be “a big struggle” for the NPP to win power in the upcoming November polls.
“It’s not that the people don’t want change but they are not sure of an NPP government vis a vis its current state,” Awuni asserted in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM.
Since the suspension of Paul Afoko several elements within the party have expressed deep concerns on the development, somewhat confirming the supposed divisions in the party.
Commenting on the events in largest opposition NPP, Awuni contends unless a miracle happens, many of the things the NPP is doing now will reduce its vote drastically come the general elections.
He explains because people are only succumbing grudgingly to the current leadership of the party after the unfortunate overthrow of Afoko, there will be sheer apathy for people to come out and vote massively for NPP.
“Nana Addo has made things rather difficult for himself and the party to win an election. I’m sure he[Akufo-Addo] regrets it,” Awuni insisted.
