The African Center for Energy Policy ACEP in collaboration with Ghana Revenue Authority and DFID has launched a digital platform called open Tax Ghana Platform with the aim to help share information with citizen on the need to pay tax, where to tax and whom to tax to.

The African Center for Energy Policy ACEP in collaboration with Ghana Revenue Authority and DFID has launched a digital platform called open Tax Ghana Platform with the aim to help share information with citizen on the need to pay tax, where to tax and whom to tax to.

Speaking at the launch held at ACEP Head office in Accra, The Executive Director of ACEP Benjamin Boakye said the platform will also help citizen to share what they see in their own environment concerning Tax collection.

According to him there is the need to get everybody on board in this tax collection campaign exercise especially the need to deeping conversation among tax payers.

He added that in the petroleum sector over 850million cedis have been misplaced due to invasion and illegal dumping of product therefore ACEP is patterning with government to mobilize resources to track these for the seek of transparency and accountability.

On her part Communication and public Affairs director at the Ghana Revenue Authority Anita Naadu Anaba – Ania said their main aim towards this campaign is to invite citizen to voluntary honour their responsibility by paying their tax.
She therefore called on media to involve themselves on this campaign to help government achieve it goals.
