The Electoral Commission has justified delays in releasing results of Wednesday’s parliamentary and presidential polls, underscoring the importance of accuracy over speed
Charlotte Osei says fears that the delay to release the results is informed by a scheme to rig the elections is untenable.
She cited challenges with results at key constituencies -Tema East, Adeiso, Kwadaso – as well as two regions, the Northern Region and Volta regions, as the reason for the delay to call out the results.
‘We cannot manipulate results’, she assured during an emergency press conference at its headquarters in Accra.
