The Accra Regional Police Commander COP George Akuffo Dampare has now been assigned to head the Police Command and Staff College at Winneba in the Central Region.
His transfer from the command to Winneba in the Central region takes immediate effect.
COP Dampare took over the Accra Regional Police Command and served for just six months after he served as Director General Finance of the Ghana Police Service.
Crime fighting
He’s been hailed for his lead role in the swift arrest of the alleged killer of former Abuakwa North MP, J.B. Danquah.
Some selected communities in the capital who were plagued by the activities of armed robbers. Some communities that have benefited from the module include Madina, Danfa, Achimota, Tesano, and Oyarifa. He has also been credited for reducing car-snatching criminal activities to the barest minimum.
He also established the Continuous Community Police Engagement programme, where the police interacted with members of the community on their security challenges, among others like his efforts in helping foster unity and camaraderie between the Police and the various political parties.
