    Abrepo are champions of 2021 MTN Ashantifest tourney

    Abrepo showed class to be crowned as the 2021 MTN Ashantifest Cup champions after beating Kotei Deduako 5-4 on penalties last Saturday at the Paa Joe Stadium at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology [KNUST] campus, Kumasi.

    The two sides held each Other to a pulsating goalless draw game forcing the winner to be settled through the penalty shootout which Abrepo emerged victorious.

    Players and offices from Abrepo received a cash prize of GHC20, 000 as well as a giant trophy and medals from telecommunication giants MTN Ghana. For placing second, Kotei Deduako were also rewarded with a cash prize of GHC10, 000 and medals. In all,
    eight teams from Kumasi participated in the community football championship which was organized as part of the 2021 Ashantifest. The communities included; Fante New Town, Asafo, Tech,Kotei Deduako, Bantama, Dichemso, Asokore Mampong, and Abrepo.

     

    The Abrepo team conquered all fronts as they also took home the Most Valuable Player, Goal King, and the Fair Play accolades on the final day of the event

    This year’s edition of the Ashantifest coincides with the 25th anniversary of MTN Ghana.
