It’s official! Braimah “Bukom Banku” Kamoko and old foe Ayitey Powers will fight again when they take to the ring at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Boxing Day, December 26.
Kamoko defeated Powers via unanimous points decision in their first fight back on May 15 last year at the Accra Sports Stadium in what was easily the most well-attended boxing event in the history of this country.
Now they seek to take it a notch up in Ghana’s second city of Kumasi on a show to be spiced with musical performances by famous rapper Sarkodie, D-Black, the Abodam man Kwaw Kesse and dancehall king, Shatta Wale with famous actor, John Dumelo as ring announcer.
‘Revenge or Repeat’ the rematch between Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers is presented by Livewire Events and Landmark Promotions with the support of Black Avenue Sports, Bukom Boxing and Ako Boxing and sponsored by Joy Dadi Bitters.
The mega bill was announced in Accra today where it was revealed that the fight is worth over $100,000 in prizes and purses for the boxers including a Range Rover sports car, a trip for two to South Africa and an endorsement deal.
Both Bukom Banku and Ayitey Powers as well as D-Black and John Dumelo were all present at Thursday’s signing ceremony.
Tickets are expected to go on sale from December 1 at selected outlets with prices ranging between GH¢10 (Ten Ghana Cedis) for popular stand to GH¢150 (One hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis) for Ringside.
