Nyongores Member of County Assembly Cecilia Towett has perished and three others seriously injured in a grisly road accident at Ntulele area along Narok Mai-Mahiu road.
It is reported that the MCA was heading to Bomet when the vehicle she was travelling in collided head-on with a lorry headed in the opposite direction.
Narok County Police Commander Abdi Galgalo said the MCA died on the spot, adding that her body has been taken to the Narok General Hospital Mortuary.
Meanwhile, two people perished in a road accident involving two vehicles at Kamara along the Nakuru Eldoret highway.
The 3am accident involved a lorry and an East Coach bus that was coming from Eldoret to Nakuru.
Abdirahman Gede, a witness, said that the lorry driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the on-coming bus.
The driver and his conductor died on the spot while several other passengers were injured. Those injured have been taken to the Rift Valley General Hospital.
It is suspected that the driver of the ill-fated lorry might have fallen asleep while on the steering wheel.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to Eldama Ravine Sub County Hospital Mortuary while the wreckage was towed to Eldama Ravine Police Station.
The accident comes a week after five people, including three children from the same family, died while two other people sustained serious injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in lost control and rolled several times near River Yala, along the Kilingili-Khwisero road in Vihiga County.
