Nii Ayittey Anumle Oyanka I, chief of Oblieman in the Ga West Municipality has waded into the much talk-about of the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare as he takes over the leadership of the Ghana police service.
According to the International Chamber of Commerce(ICC) Chief Executive Officer, the ok new IGP stands to achieve and succeed in his new office.
He said this can only be done when there is no political interference in discharging his duty as he is already to Ghanaians as a professional police officer.
Nii Ayittey Anumley made this in an interview with thealhajj.com at his palace in Accra on Saturday 23th July 2021.
For him, COP Dr. Dampare has a proven track record of a firm, courageous and professional police officers over the years.
Nii Oyanka I noted that the appointment of COP Dampare was timely and came at the time the police service facing credibility issues.
“You will note that quite recently, the police and the citizens are having frost relationship, people turn not to trust the police anymore”, Nii Oyanka stated.
However, he indicated that politicians may try in some ways to stand on his ways when discharging his professional duties.
This he said, should not derail the new IGP but rather sterm his authorities devoid of any political io interference.
He advised the new IGP, COP Dr. Dampare to leave an indelible mark as IGP as he used to do where ever him found himself.
He said Ghanaians have high hope on his appointment and believe that he would not disappoint the general populace but restore the lost image of the police service.
