Award winning hairstylish, Nana Mintah popularly known as Scientifik De Barber decided to set up a hair salon in Accra West Mccarthy kasoa road after realising that no matter how the economy is faring, people are always prepared to spend money on their hair. Over the weekends it is packed with women, men and children being groomed.
In an interview sighted by Daily View Gh, the Barber reveals that it ranges from barbershop to barbershop and with the price of haircuts now could probably be Ghs50, Ghs100 upwards. I basically make 30,000 thousand Cedis upwards,” said Scientifik De Barber, a barber at Mccarthy kasoa road in Accra.
According to him he crunched the numbers based on people’ claim averaged about 15 haircuts per day.
“Back in the days it was only women spending their money, doing their hair, doing their nails and so forth but now men are taking better care of themselves. Now guys come in barbershops, they coming every week, every two weeks every month it depends on the hairstyle. So barbering has moved very far from then to now,” he said.
Scientifik, a barber since his teenage years, said especially with the rise in focus on male grooming, a barber can not only find steady income but multiple sources as well.
