Kotoko to pay Maxwell Konadu $5,000

Coach Maxwell Konadu is expected to pocket $5000 each month after agreeing to terms with Kumasi Asante Kotoko, according to media reports.

The Black Stars B coach landed the Porcupine Warrior job after Norwegian Kjetil Zachariassen was axed for poor performance.

According to reports, the new manager’s salary would be borne by both the club and the newly-elected National Chapters Committee (NCC) chairman, Christopher Demenya.

While the club would pay $3000 of the monthly salary, the NCC chairman would top it up with additional $2000 to make it complete.

The 47-year-old coach is reported to have been handed the Porcupine Warriors dug out on time for the start of the Ghana Premier League season scheduled for December 28.

Konadu would be returning to the same side he guided to win the league in 2011 and would be expected to inspire the club to clinch the title once more.

He would be taking over the dug out with an improved CV having worked as assistant to Coach Kwasi Appiah at the Black Stars job as well as leading to Black Stars B side to win the WAFU competition hosted in Ghana in 2017.

He also emerged as the best coach at the 2019 WAFU competition which was hosted in Senegal after leading the team to win silver.
