Lance Corporal Abu Majida with service number No 47604 of the Ghana Police Service attached to the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) in Wa has been arrested by police in Bole for stealing a Chinese mobile phone.
According to police investigators, the suspect who was on leave came to his hometown of Bole and was given a lift home on a motorbike by his friend identified as Majeed Abdulai.
On his way home, he stopped and entered the provision shop of one Mohammed Mahama and stole his Solo King mobile phone and GH¢900 while he was busily attending to other customers.
Realizing he had been seen pilfering, he tried running away but was chased and arrested by the shop owner and the items retrieved from him.
As he was being taken to the police station, the suspect escaped and subsequently fled the town.
However, a complaint was made against him and Police in Wa were equally informed.
He was arrested by Wa police and handed over to Bole police where a case of unlawful entry and stealing was established against him.
Lance Corporal Abu Majida was put before the Magistrate court in Bole on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 and remanded into police custody to re-appear on November 23, 2017 after his plea was not taken –
