The Abeka District Court has sentenced the Mawarko restaurant Supervisor, Jihad Chaaban to nine months imprisonment for dipping the face of a worker into pepper.

The court Wednesday morning found him guilty of unlawfully causing harm and assault but found him not guilty of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace, reports Graphic Online’s Emmanuel Ebo Hawkson.

According to the court, presided over by Ms Victoria Guansah, the sentence will serve as a deterrent to supervisors and employers who mistreat their subordinates.

The court sentenced him for six months for the charge of assault and nine months on the charge of causing harm, Hawkson reported.

Both sentences are to run concurrently.
