Mr Patrick Darko Missah has been appointed as the Acting Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo made the appointment in pursuant to Article 207 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 6(1) of the Prisons Service Act, 1972.

A statement signed and issued by Mrs Adelaide Anno-Kumi, Chief Director of the Ministry of Interior on Tuesday said Mr Missah replaces Mr Emmanuel Yao Adzator who is to be re-assigned.

The changes, according to the statement, takes immediate effect.

Mr Missah who until recently was the Deputy Director-General in charge of Finance and Administration has had an extensive working life with the Prisons Service spanning 1989 to date.
