The Paramount Chief of the Nungua Traditional Council, Nii Odaifio Welentsi III, has called on the leadership of the various political parties to put their differences aside and throw their weight behind President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his quest to develop the nation.
At a press conference in Accra, Nii Welentsi III said he had no doubt that the new government had “what it takes to help Ghana develop.”
“I first and foremost congratulate the President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, on his resounding victory in the 2016 election. I believe he is capable of leading Ghana to achieve its development goals,” he stated.
All inclusive
Nii Welentsi III stressed the need for the incoming government not to limit its administration to his party but endeavour to include those from the other parties as a way of ensuring an all-inclusive governance.
He said in order to ensure growth and stability, Nana Akufo-Addo must include everyone irrespective of which party they belonged to, to enhance the country’s economic growth.
“The government must be all-inclusive, bringing in not only working people but women, minority and young people for their energy and ideas,” Nii Welentsi III noted.
He said Ghanaians were waiting for the new government to implement policies that would address the development challenges in the country, especially the high unemployment among the youth.
