The Ghanaian Market Women have blamed the December General Elections for their low pre- Christmas Sales and patronages.

The beginning of this month- November has been a challenging time for the market women nationwide which hitherto should not be the case.

In the previous years, November was the month most market women make good pre- Christmas sales for their goods but this year’s November is a different story altogether.

A visit to one of the popular markets in Accra, Mallam Atta Market by FN News’ Linda Tetteh indicated that the traders are going through different moments.

The situation in the market is very challenging to these market women because no one is buying their goods when they open their shops.

A seller who identified herself as Madam Akos apportioned the low sales and turn up on the upcoming December elections.

“I know it’s because of the election and we only look to God”

It is remains unclear if the upcoming elections should be blamed for the low sales or the economy instead.
