Ghana midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah has begun his rehabilitation after successfully undergoing surgery last Monday on a ruptured meniscus cartilage.
Asamoah got injured last Saturday while in action for Serie A side Juventus against Palermo and was scheduled for the surgery.
Juventus last Monday evening upadted fans on their website, saying “Kwadwo Asamoah today underwent successful meniscectomy surgery on his right knee. The operation was conducted by Professor Cugat in Barcelona in the presence of Juventus club doctor Claudio Rigo.
“The midfielder will begin his rehabilitation programme immediately and the timeframe for his return to action remains the same as originally estimated, namely around 45 days.”
Asamoah has had to endure a host of injuries at Juventus within the past two season which has restricted his playing time.
The period for his recovery means the midfielder will miss Ghana’s 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Egypt next month.
