Defeated New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant in the Klottey Korle constituency of the Greater Accra Region, lawyer Philip Addison has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of conniving with some constituency executives to rob him of votes.
Addison obtained a paltry 22 votes to place a distant second in the constituency primary held on Sunday, with his main contender, Nii Noi Nortey running home with 393 votes. A third contestant, Adjei Tawiah, got 19 votes.
But Addison told Joy FM on Monday morning that the EC was very much into a scheme to yield a particular result ; to hand victory to Nortey.
He is yet to take a decision on his next move but he said a lot of people in the constituency are angry with what he described as a sham of an election.
