PHOTOS: Cape Coast NPP parliamentary candidate escapes knife attack

The Cape Coast North parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party was reportedly attacked by a knife-wielding man at her home Saturday dawn,StarrFMonline.com has learnt.

Barbara Isha-Ayisi however escaped unhurt in the attack.

According to StarrFMonline.com sources the attacker was immediately trapped and subdued by neighbors after an alarm was raised by other occupants of the house.

The attacker who had entered Isha-Ayisi’s house after scaling the walls had on him a knife and an iron rod and demanded access to the candidate’s room after smashing the windscreen of her car.

He is currently receiving treatment at the Ankaful hospital after he was beaten by the neighbors upon arrest before handing him over to the Police.

The incident comes on the back of the killing of the Abuakwa North Member of Parliament.

Joseph Boakye Daquah-Adu was murdered at his residence on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at his residence in Accra.

One person has been arrested in connection with the crime.
