The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has ordered its communicators to refrain from commenting on the recent remarks made by the party’s former Chairman, Paul Afoko.
According to the NPP “the communication Directorate has taken note of the desire of many communicators to respond forcefully to comments made by Mr Paul Afoko in a television interview on Saturday.”
“The directorate however cautions all communicators not to be distracted by Mr Afoko’s comments. Mr Afoko himself has taken his grievances to court.
The party will respond to him in court,” a statement signed by NPP Deputy Communications Director, Perry Okudzeto added.
Paul Afoko months after his suspension was hosted on TV3’s Hot Issue on Saturday. He expressed a number of concerns including those pertaining to his suspension.
Mr. Afoko also maintained that he did not disrespect the party’s Council of Elders which literally was the beginning of his troubles in party. He also cast doubt about the fortunes of the NPP in the 2016 general elections.
Meanwhile the statement from the NPP said there are more issues of national importance to be discussed hence concerns raised by Mr. Afoko should be discarded.

In the meantime, NO COMMENT, on the matters he has raised, there are grave issues of national importance including the relocation of suspected terrorists into Ghana, the imposition of crippling utility and petroleum tariffs and prices, corruption within the NDC government, Electoral Commission and the voters register among others, that should engage our attention.
Communicators and party members should focus on these and not allow themselves to be distracted, no matter how contentious.
