Some youth of Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region have vowed to invoke curses on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) if they fail to apologize to the Chief of Sunyani, Nana Asor Nkrawiri II.
The youth claim the NPP disrespected the people of Sunyani and their chief by insulting the chief and therefore don’t understand why the opposition party would want to have their extra ordinary congress in the Chief’s backyard on Saturday after denigrating him.
The chief of Sunyani, Nana Asor Nkrawiri II promised 80 percent of votes for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2016 elections when the President paid him a visit some weeks ago.
In a swift response, the NPP Regional Chairman is said to have criticized Nana Asor Nkrawiri II, accusing him of “stooping so low” for calling on residents to overwhelmingly endorse the president.
Speaking on Atinka AM Drive Friday , the leader of the youth group, Yaw Agyeman explained that the chief and the residents need an unqualified apology from the NPP before the party can access the venue .
When asked what they would do if the NPP fails to adhere to their demands, Yaw Agyeman said, “We the people of Sunyani shall curse the NPP if they fail to apologise”.
