President John Mahama has arrived in Guinea Conakry to attend the inauguration of President Alpha Conde who is set for a second term in office.
The West African country has had a long standing friendship with Ghana since the days of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Guinea’s Ahmed Sekou Toure.
To further cement the relationship, President Mahama in 2014 hosted President Conde on a State Visit to Ghana.
Accompanying the President to Conakry are the National Chairman of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) and the Chairperson of the Council of State, Mrs. Cecilia Johnson.
While in Conakry, President Mahama will visit the widow of the late Guinean leader, Ahmed Sekou Toure, and also visit the residence of the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah while he was in exile in Guinea.
President Mahama will return home Monday night
