A 35-year-old biker only identified as Kwasi Amoah has been confirmed dead after he fell into the Ankobra River while trying to push his unregistered motorbike across the river using a wooden footbridge.

According to the police who confirmed the incident to Dailyviewgh.com reporter, the deceased who hails from Wassa Juabo was pulling his unregistered Hiaojin Motorbike along a wooden footbridge over River Ankobra at Wassa Ajumako but fell into the river together with the motorbike on Saturday at about 9:30 am

Police proceeded to the scene after one Kwadwo Abu of Wassa Ajumako lodged an official complaint at Wassa Juabo Station where local rescue team went into the river in search for the missing body

His lifeless body was later retrieved from the river after hours of search.  The motorbike was also removed from the river.

Upon a careful examination by police investigators, it was established that no mark of violence was found on it. The body has since been sent to Bibiani Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
