At least 17 people are feared dead after a huge tree fell on revelers at the Kintampo Water fall in the Brong Ahafo Region Sunday.
Scores of others have been left injured in the accident which occurred between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm, Dailyviewgh.com has learnt.
The victims were said to be swimming in the water when the tumbling tree crushed them to death.
An eyewitness told Dailyviewgh.com there was a strong wind which forced the tree to the ground killing scores and injuring several.
A joint team of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and Ghana Police Service are currently on the scene attempting to rescue the injured and trapped victims.
