12-year-old boy, Viemens Bamfo, has become an internet sensation after multiple news portals reported that he has been offered admission to study at the University of Ghana.
Viemens was the youngest among over 2,900 fresh students who were enrolled to study various courses at the university recently.
Reports indicate that Viemens was home-schooled by his father after his lower primary education in Akyem-Oda in the Eastern Region.
He subsequently sat for the West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as a private candidate and excelled.
He will be studying Public Administration as a long-distance student.
“I want to improve our nation and make our nation one of the highest countries in the world,” one news portal reported 12-year-old Viemen’s future aspirations.
Viements Bamfo becomes the second child in his family to be home-tutored by his father.
His elder brother, Edwin Bamfo, graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as an Environmental Scientist at the age of 20.
Viemens revealed that his father combined both the Cambridge and the WASSCE syllabi to teach him at home
